Destination Canada Mobility Forum 2026: dates, cities and how to register from Cameroon
The 22nd edition takes place in December 2026 in Brussels, Marseille and Tunis. It is free and by invitation: what a Cameroonian candidate should know first.
Destination Canada Mobility Forum is back in December 2026, and many Cameroonians have been searching for it on Google since the end of the summer. It is a genuine Government of Canada event, free of charge, that puts French-speaking candidates in front of Canadian employers. The information below was checked on canada.ca on October 17, 2026.
What the forum is
The forum is organised by the Government of Canada for skilled workers who speak French or are bilingual. People come to understand Canada's immigration programs and, above all, to meet Canadian employers recruiting outside Quebec, in the French-speaking communities of the other provinces and territories.
It is not a fair where you file a visa application. What happens there is a meeting with an employer. The work permit comes afterwards, if an employer makes you an offer.
The 2026 dates and cities
The 22nd edition takes place in Brussels (Belgium) on December 5, 2026, in Marseille (France) on December 7, 2026, and in Tunis (Tunisia) on December 10 and 11, 2026. The activities are held in person: no online component has been announced for this edition.
No city in sub-Saharan Africa is on the program this year. For the 20th edition, the official form had planned days in Douala in February 2025. In 2026, a candidate living in Cameroon will therefore have to travel to Belgium, France or Tunisia. The government does not publish any travel support: the 2025 form actually asked candidates to be able to obtain a visa for the host country and to pay their own travel costs. Do that calculation before you register.
Free, but by invitation
Participation is free for all candidates, but places are limited. IRCC's Help Centre is clear about it: you need an invitation from the organisers. You register with the official form for the city you choose, linked from the candidates page of the Destination Canada section on canada.ca.
The deadline for candidates has not been published. The deadline for exhibitors, the employers, is October 31, 2026. If the forum interests you, register without waiting.
Nobody sells places at the forum. An "agent" who asks you for money for a registration, an invitation or a badge is scamming you: registration is done on a government form, at an address ending in canada.ca. The other warning signs of a scam are listed here: /en/article/arnaque-immigration-cameroun-reconnaitre
The link with Francophone Mobility
The forum is a showcase for the Francophone Mobility stream. An employer outside Quebec who hires you can have your work permit issued under this stream, without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). You need spoken French at CLB 5 or higher, and the job can be in any TEER category except primary agriculture in TEER 4 and 5. The program is explained in detail here: /en/article/mobilite-francophone-permis-travail-canada-cameroun
Arriving prepared
An employer you meet at the forum wants to know what you do, at what level, and whether your French is certified. Take your TCF Canada or TEF Canada before December: a result in hand is worth more than a promise, and it is the document you will have to attach to your work permit application. To see where you stand, the online practice space is here: /en/prepa-tcf.html
Also prepare a clear CV focused on your experience in your occupation, with dates and duties. Have a valid passport: without it, neither the trip to the forum nor the work permit is possible.
If you cannot attend
The forum is not the only way in. An Express Entry profile can be prepared from Douala or Yaoundé, and the draws reserved for French speakers are often the most accessible. To find out what your profile is worth today, our free assessment answers in a few minutes: /en/evaluation.html
