Prépa TCF Canada: a step-by-step guide to the online practice area

The TCF Canada carries real weight in an Express Entry file. The site's TCF preparation does one thing, and does it properly: it puts exam-format subjects in front of you, then explains every mistake.

Creating the account, and what opens straight away

An email address is enough, and the account is free. From sign-up, eight subjects are free, two per paper. That is enough to see how the marking works and to place your level before deciding anything.

The full bank holds 126 subjects: 41 in reading comprehension, 35 in listening comprehension, 21 in written expression, 29 in speaking. Locked subjects stay visible with their padlock, so you know what sits behind them.

The four papers, and what the marking gives you

In reading, 39 questions in 60 minutes, exactly as on exam day. At the end you get the score, the estimated NCLC level, and an explanation for every answer, including the ones you got right.

In listening, 39 questions at the pace of the recording. One listen only, as in the real exam. Every answer is picked up again and explained in the correction.

In written expression, the three official tasks, timed. You write online, then ask for the correction: a mark out of 20 on the official scale, the estimated NCLC, and every error corrected and explained.

That question-by-question marking is what does the work. A score on its own never tells you what to change.

Speaking: you record yourself, then you are marked

The three speaking tasks are there: presentation, interaction, point of view. For the first and the third, the page opens a recorder: reading time, then a timed recording, exactly as in the exam. Allow the microphone when the browser asks.

Your voice is transcribed while you speak, and the mark is built from that transcript. If you say too little or speak too quietly, the tool says so and asks you to start again rather than marking blind.

One thing to know before you begin: the recording lives in the page's memory. Listen back at once, compare with the model answer, then redo the task. Close the page and the sound is gone.

Packs, marking credits and the tutor option

Every pack opens the whole bank; only the length changes. One week, 5,000 FCFA. Two weeks, 7,000. One month, 10,000. Two months, 17,000. Each one includes a set number of AI corrections: 2, 4, 10 and 18 in that order.

If you use them up, you top up without touching the length of your access: 5 credits for 2,000 F, 12 for 5,000 F, 25 for 9,000 F.

Payment is made online from the page, by Orange Money or MTN MoMo. Your access is then switched on, usually in under an hour.

Speaking is not learned alone in front of a screen. The human marking option adds four one-hour individual sessions with a tutor playing the examiner, to be used within thirty days, on the days you choose. The price is shown on the page, and the slots are agreed together on WhatsApp.

Following your progress

The area keeps your score history and shows what you have already worked through, paper by paper. Mock exams, reserved for pack holders, run the papers back to back so you feel the real length of the test.

At the end of your pack you leave with a dated certificate of preparation: subjects worked, mock exams, best score.
