Credential Assessment Cost in Canada: WES, ICAS, IQAS and ICES Fees (2026)
Base fees at WES, ICAS, IQAS and ICES read on their own sites on 1 November 2026, what is extra, announced timelines, and why CES no longer takes new files.
For an educational credential assessment (ECA) that IRCC accepts, the base fee runs from $200 CAD at ICES to $264 CAD at WES, according to each organization's official page read on 1 November 2026. ICAS lists $231 CAD and IQAS $260 CAD. Tax, delivery and administration fees come on top, depending on the organization: at IQAS, with a delivery address outside Canada, the total goes from $260 CAD to $375 CAD. CES has stopped accepting new applications since 22 October 2026, and its price could not be verified.
Which organizations has IRCC designated to assess a diploma?
IRCC's page on educational credential assessments, read on 1 November 2026, names five organizations for most applicants: CES (University of Toronto), ICAS, WES, IQAS (Alberta) and ICES (British Columbia Institute of Technology). Three more are reserved for one profession: the Medical Council of Canada, the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada and the Canadian Architectural Certification Board. IRCC publishes no amounts. Its page only says that processing times and costs vary by organization, and that in most cases only your highest level of education needs to be assessed. The prices below come from the organizations' own websites, in Canadian dollars. Which organization to ask, with timelines and prices: Credential assessment
How much does a WES credential assessment cost?
WES lists $264 CAD for its assessment for IRCC (the ECA), before the 13% harmonized sales tax (HST) and before delivery of the paper report: $14 CAD for standard delivery without tracking, $97 CAD by courier to the United States and internationally. WES says documents typically take 2 weeks to verify, then the evaluation typically takes 1 week, up to 2 weeks for complex files. The details for an applicant in Cameroon are in this article: WES Educational Credential Assessment from Cameroon: Costs in CFA Francs, Timelines and Pitfalls
How much does an ICAS credential assessment cost?
ICAS lists $231 CAD, tax included, for its Canadian Immigration Assessment Package: two original reports, an electronic copy and electronic storage of the report so that IRCC can verify it. The reports go out by regular mail or courier, and the page does not say whether delivery is included. On another page ICAS lists delivery fees, including $11 CAD by regular mail and $85 CAD by courier to international addresses. The average processing time is 20 weeks after all required documents arrive, which ICAS calls an average, not a guarantee. There is no rush service.
How much does an IQAS credential assessment cost?
IQAS charges $260 CAD for one credential, plus $100 CAD for each additional credential in the same application, a $25 CAD administration fee and courier fees of $25 CAD to a Canadian address or $90 CAD to an address outside Canada. For one credential delivered in Cameroon, that comes to $375 CAD. The page mentions no tax, and no fee is refunded. IQAS announces about 15 business days, counted once the file is complete and shows the status 'In line for processing', not including delivery. Rush service costs $250 CAD more for 5 to 7 business days, and IQAS caps the number of rush applications per day.
How much does an ICES credential assessment cost?
ICES, the service of BCIT in British Columbia, charges $200 CAD per credential: two original paper reports, secure online access for IRCC and regular mail without tracking. Courier is optional, at $26 CAD within Canada and $75 CAD to the United States and internationally. Online payment is by credit card, and nothing is refunded. The page does not mention tax. ICES estimates the current processing time at 7 weeks, counted once all requirements are met.
What happened to CES, the University of Toronto service?
The CES price could not be verified: its fee page refused access on 1 November 2026. Its home page announces the end of the service: since 22 October 2026, 9:00 am Eastern time, CES no longer accepts new applications, and applications submitted and paid before that date are still processed. IRCC's page, read the same day, still lists CES as a designated organization. For a new file, you therefore need another organization.
And for a physician, a pharmacist or an architect?
The Medical Council of Canada lists $130 CAD per copy of the report, delivered as a PDF within 14 business days. The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada charges $100 CAD for the report, but only after the document evaluation, listed at $715 CAD. The Canadian Architectural Certification Board lists $329.96 CAD, which is $292 CAD plus 13% tax, with an estimated processing time of up to 2 weeks after it receives all documents. How much is that in CFA francs?
Our site converts at about 408 CFA francs per Canadian dollar, the European Central Bank rate of 16 September 2026, rounded to the nearest thousand. At that rate the base fees come to about 82,000 CFA francs at ICES, 94,000 at ICAS, 106,000 at IQAS and 108,000 at WES, before tax, delivery and administration fees. The current rate is in the What it costs tab: What it costs
What should you check before paying?
These amounts cannot be compared as they stand: ICAS includes tax, WES adds it on top, and IQAS and ICES do not mention it. What your university charges to certify and send your transcripts comes on top of the organizations' fees; the WES article gives those amounts for Cameroon. Organizations change their fees, so read their page again on the day you pay. Which organization suits you depends on your diploma and your occupation, which we cannot decide here.
