Two IELTS exist. Only one counts for your project
Both have the same name, cost the same and are booked in the same place. Taking the wrong version is the costliest mistake, and it is made before you even start revising.

Academic or General Training?
Canadian immigration asks for General Training: Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Program, permanent residence. Academic is the version for universities and some professional bodies. If in doubt, write to us before paying for your registration.
Are the papers real exam papers?
No, and nobody honest can claim so: official IELTS papers are not published. Ours are original creations in the official format, with the same question types, the same timings and the same families of themes as the Cambridge books.
Do I need an account to try?
No. The free paper needs no account, on this device. The account (free) then opens your two free tests. A plan can be bought without an account: it is activated on the email address given at payment, and the account you create afterwards with that address receives it automatically.
How many tests should I take before exam day?
A candidate preparing for six to eight weeks usually takes ten to fifteen. The first one measures, the next ones fix what the first revealed. Taking all thirty only makes sense if you are preparing over several months.
IELTS or TCF to immigrate to Canada?
Both are accepted: the TCF Canada for French, IELTS General Training for English. An application can include both, and that often earns the most points: the second official language is worth up to 24 CRS points. If you hesitate, start with the language you are most comfortable in. See the TCF Prep
How do I pay from abroad?

Taking the TCF Canada?
The TCF Prep has its own page: 126 papers, a score out of 699 and your CLB level at every test. Its topics come up again at the exam.
