Your file online: how the client area works, step by step

Building an immigration file means gathering dozens of details and documents, often over several weeks, across a phone and a computer. Notebooks go missing, WhatsApp messages sink out of sight, and when the time comes to check, nobody knows which version is the right one.

The client area exists for exactly that: /en/dossier-ircc.html

How you get in

This page does not open by itself. It opens with the personal link the office sends you, and that link is the only key. Arrive at the address without it and the page simply tells you the link is incomplete, and asks you to request it again.

Your link has an end date, shown at the top of the form under your name. Until it passes, you can come and go as often as you like.

The screens, and the thread that turns green

The form has seven screens if you are applying alone, ten if a spouse is on the file. You, your addresses over the last ten years, your activities over those same ten years, your travel, your family. Then, where it applies, your spouse and their family, their addresses and their activities. Finally your documents, and the review.

A pinned thread at the top shows the numbers. A completed screen turns green, and one click takes you back to it. The counter tells you where you are, for example screen 3 of 7.

Each screen explains why the question is asked. Addresses, for instance: every single day of the last ten years must be covered, with no gap. The form works out the gaps and shows them to you. A button drops in a row already dated on the missing period, leaving you only to say what you were doing then. Periods with no job count too, and they are not a flaw.

What is saved, and where

Your answers are saved as you go, with nothing to click. A line at the bottom of the page shows the time of the last save. With no signal, it tells you everything is held on that device and will go up when the connection returns.

That is what lets you start on the office computer and finish on your phone in the evening: you reopen the same link and find everything again, including the files you have already uploaded.

What is not saved: the legibility check on your scans. It runs inside your browser, on your device, and sends nothing back.

One more thing to know: the page does not hand your file back to you as a single downloadable document. Keep your own originals on your side, in a folder on your phone or computer.

Documents: what the page accepts

Seven slots are waiting: studies and language, passports, birth certificates, national identity cards, registration certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law union, and identity photos.

Scan to PDF, flat, well lit, with all four corners visible. On a phone, Google Drive does this with its Scan function. Identity photos stay in JPG or PNG. Each file can reach 25 MB, and you may put several in the same slot. Above 1 MB, the site compresses on its own.

After the upload, the page checks legibility and shows a preview of the first page. If it reports that the page is hard to read, look at the preview and redo the scan. Still missing a document? Tick the box saying you will provide it later, and carry on: nothing blocks you.

Saving with us is not sending to IRCC

This is the point not to confuse, and it deserves to be spelled out.

This form is meant for our office. The button on the last screen is called send my file: it sends your details and your documents to Immigration Voyages, not to IRCC. Nothing is filed with the Canadian government through this page, now or later.

Filing with IRCC happens elsewhere, in the online account made for it, with the official forms. What you fill in here helps us prepare that filing, and spot gaps and contradictions while there is still time.

Before you send, the review screen shows exactly what we are about to receive. Check the names and the dates above all, they are where mistakes cluster. Found one? Go back, fix it, return: nothing is lost.

Once sent, the page confirms how many documents came through, and we write to you on WhatsApp if anything is missing. Stuck somewhere? A link at the bottom of every screen opens the office WhatsApp conversation, and we fill that part in with you.
